Had a conversation the other day with a lady who was “too afraid to try CrossFit”, though she was quite happy to subject herself to fitness programs such as a bootcamp. I enquired whether or not they squatted in bootcamp. “Yes,” she said. We do in CrossFit too. Maybe there is more in CrossFit she could do than she realizes. “Hmm 🤔“, she said. I suggested that she take a friend and attend a free class just to see. “I might 😊”, she said.

Most fitness training involves air squats. If you have forgotten how or feel you can’t, we can get you going. So like the lady with whom I was conversing, why not find a friend and come and try a free class?

The Air Squat

If you want to be able to pick up, The stuff on the floor you drop, 

Be safe and do it right, Don’t bend your back but Squat.


To sit in a chair maybe easy, Standing up again, maybe not

Engage those hammies and glutes, Chest up and push out of a Squat.


How many times have you heard, “Bad knees so I cannot

Do a very fundamental movement, A basic body-weight Air Squat”.


Toddlers do them all the time, But as we gain years we stop

Doing that one useful movement, An unadulterated pure Air Squat.


Keeping your chest up high, Push back with your hips and drop

Slowly with knees over toes, Into the perfect Air Squat.


Hang out for a couple of secs, To help tight muscles unknot

Then lead with elbows and chest, And extend from your flawless Air Squat.
