T2 October Athlete of the Month – Khush

1.  Tell Us About yourself:     I got married and moved to the USA from India in 2006. Got a second bachelor’s degree in HR and got into Healthcare early in the game. Always been involved in sports and am blessed with two boys who keep me on my toes with swimming, taekwondo, soccer and very soon basket ball – love being involved in all. I am a healthcare consultant at SDLC partners working on healthcare transformation and how healthcare will look in 2025 with Highmark.

2.  How would your best friends describe you?    Focused, bubbly, helpful, funny when my Indian accent kicks in…

3.  What is one thing that people find surprising about you?     I worked on cruise liners and have seen almost half of the west region on the globe..

4.  How long have you been doing CrossFit?     1 yr 11months.

5.  What made you start CrossFit?   Who made me…. Joe Krotozo (from Mt. Lebanon)

6.  What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?     Scalability on every movement – when you scale is when you realize you can do more and more and more…. Most of the times you don’t even recognize what you accomplished and are capable of.

7.  What is your favorite movement?     Strength – front and back squats

8.  What is your least favorite movement?      Gymnastics – HSPU

9.  What is your biggest accomplishment to date both CrossFit related – just being able to make it to the box each day, there is a lot that goes in, for someone like me it does not come easy & I feel this is an accomplishment each day when I step foot in the box and feel strong and powerful that I can conquer the world in that 1 hr.

and non-CrossFit related? – I can lift, wrestle with both my boys and bench (one of them on the floor)

10.  What is your next goal? Continue my healthy eating habits, not paleo yet, but very close.

11.  What is your favorite WOD you have done so far? Any of the hero WODs are the ones I really like, but every day is a gift want to make the best by embracing whatever is on the board.

12.  Free write:  There are a lot of things we take for granted in life, sometimes it’s too late until we realize and feel sorry later – be kind, be welcoming, be true to yourself and others, be loving and helpful. Life is too unpredictable and cherish the relationships we build each and every day new, old, past, or present or the ones disappeared.
