The Opens are over and to be fair most of us didn’t make it to the next level. However, congratulations to everyone for the effort they put forth and super congratulations to those who finished in the top 10 of their age group category, both Rx and Scaled.

Final results and placings for Individuals and Teams won’t be official until all Individual athletes have accepted or declined their invitations to Regionals.

As we went through 18.1-18.5, weaknesses shone through like a beacon. Now, we are armed with a long list of skills etc on which we need to work over the course of the next 10 months in order to improve our performance in 2019. This also applies to those who didn’t register for the Opens.

However, beware! You can’t do it all at once. If you suddenly increase your workload, almost guaranteed, you will get injured or you will burn-out. The smartest way to improve is, firstly, prioritize your goals, eg movements, weights to lift, efficiency, diet/how and what your eat. Take this list to and discuss with your coach.

Once you have a plan of action on how to achieve these newly stated goals, mental toughness and patience will play a huge role as to whether or not you achieve them. Those times when the pull of Happy Hour with your friends is so strong, will you succumb? Pizza 🍕  anyone? Or will you go to the gym and get in that extra strength session? Hmm 🤔

Your goals must have a time frame and be positive in nature. Ask yourself, do you have the determination, dedication and the discipline to make them happen?

There are many articles out there to help with goal setting but our in-house resources, ie our coaches, are also pretty capable too.

T2 Apparel: Still a few items available in our ‘sale’ of T2 clothing.

#T2CrossFit your Instagram photos and share them automatically on the gym’s computer.

Also, a few places still available: Saturday 7 April, T2 is hosting the Culinary Ninja workshop. It is open to anyone; please mention the course to your friends. The more the merrier.

The workshop is not about CrossFit and exercise and keeping fit. It is about food – changing your food choices to a sustainable, more healthful way of eating. It helps you to understand what different foods do to you (good and bad) and how to balance out your eating so that you don’t get the highs and lows, bursts of energy and subsequent crashes. Although it is presented by Paleo Nick, it could be applied to other “types of diet” eg Primal, Vegetarian, Gluten Free.

It is almost a full day of instruction, discussion, and my favorite part, cooking. Not only do you get to learn about clean eating, you also get to cook and take some deliciously tasting food home with you.

Sign up here: for a great day well spent.

Saturday 9:00am Free Adult Community Class – open to members and non-members alike, all skill levels (none to expert) welcome and encouraged. A little hesitant? Come with a friend.

10:30am Members’ Only WOD These are a lot of fun. Meet members whom you wouldn’t normally see. Workout with a partner or in teams of 3. And don’t worry, as always movements are modifiable and scaleable.

Avoid the raindrops.
