Same Goal : Small Change : Re-Focus

Important things first. Congratulations to our T2 Teen of the Month for January. He has worked extremely hard during his time in the T2 Teens program and it shows. He is so strong.

This #T2Teen says he likes CrossFit because it helps him to get stronger and stay in shape. He also says the coaches are very helpful and always encourage him to do his best.

As I publish and send out this blog, our T2Kids coaches are participating in the Family Fun Night of Fitness at South Fayette Elementary School. They will be demonstrating to the community that everyone can do CrossFit regardless of their abilities. Wish them well. Thank you, coaches.


CrossFit Opens: Registration is open


Lurong Challenge Workout will take place on Saturday, 20th January, at 8:00am. Doors will open at 7:30am to allow you to warm up adequately; workout begins at 8:00am. Same thing with videoing – make sure you set up in plenty of time.


Saturday 9:00am Free Adult Community Class – open to members and non-members alike, all skill levels (none to expert) welcome and encouraged. A little hesitant? Come with a friend.


10:30am Members’ Only WOD These are a lot of fun. Meet members whom you wouldn’t normally see. Workout with a partner or in teams of 3. And don’t worry, as always movements are modifiable and scaleable.


Stay safe on the roads if traveling. Stay warm and dry if enjoying the great outdoors.

Paul and Joanna Update: A reflection from our travels – Small Changes Help To Refocus

So far on our way up the Intracoastal Waterway, the navigation aids have been red on the left/green on the right. However, we had to make a minor adjustment to our thinking as we entered the Beaufort River – the navigation aids ‘switched sides’ and for a short distance were red right returning/green on the left. Before we made our dock, the colors had switched back. Again we had to take note of where and when. What seems like a minor change would actually have major consequences if we got it wrong.

Although our end goal remained the same, ie docking at Beaufort, the refocusing on the navigation aids brought new interest into our actions, surroundings and journey. Some minor adjustment to or new way of looking at, say, a movement with which we struggle, maymake all the difference to our interest in and enthusiasm towards that movement; think thrusters, wall balls, rowing ….

I will be running the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay this year, 6th May, as part of the “run for a cure” Pittsburgh group to raise money towards research to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
