Mini-Thon, Sweat…. And Handstands

By April 21, 2017 No Comments

If you work on the big things, like getting healthier, fitter, stronger, the little things will take care of themselves. (Or something like that.) There are new sweatshirts in (version 3). They were not pre-ordered; there are plenty of all sizes in black and/or grey. See Anna or me if you would like one.

I am hoping to collect them tomorrow, Friday, so they will be available from Saturday onwards. Maybe Friday afternoon, depends on my pick-up time.

Tomorrow evening, Friday, South Fayette HS is holding a MINI-THON – a 12 hour ‘sleep over’ at school beginning at 6:00pm Friday and finishing 6:00am Saturday. T2 CrossFit is sponsoring, and donating time and expertise to help keep the students active and occupied during the evening. 7:45-8:00pm is our time slot in the Community Hour. As far as I understand, everyone is welcome during that time. So if you need an additional workout or the first one of the day, come along and support the students in this very worthy fund-raising cause: research into, treatment of and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

You may have notice that there are new parking lines at the back of the building. Hopefully this will help alleviate the “where can I park?” issue at busy times. (The dog maybe responsible for one or two white paw prints in the lot.)

One of our main concerns, when you are working out at the box, is your safety. As the days are getting longer, there seems to be more running in the warm-ups and workouts. Please be very aware of, and courteous to, the other road users along the running route. Please keep to the edges of the road; don’t run down the middle – this sometimes impedes traffic. Thank you.

The T2 Kids & Teens program would like to thank Mary and Kirk, from Mt Lebanon, for the donation of their old picnic table. It provides a place for the young athletes to sit, when the weather is good, while they wait for their class to begin.

You might be aware that Coach Anna qualified for the 2017 CrossFit Games Atlantic Regionals competition, to be held in Atlanta GA at the beginning of June. To show Anna’s Army support, we are having t-shirts printed. They will be $15. If you would like one, please write your name on the sheet on the computer shelf at the gym. If you can’t get to the gym by the deadline, email me/message me through Facebook with your size and quantity. Ladies: dark grey muscle shirt. Men: black regular t-shirt.

Sunday, 21 May 2017, T2 CrossFit will be holding an in-house Gymnastic Clinic with the focus on handstands (push ups, holds and walks). It is a first come/first serve basis. Let Anna know if you want to attend. There is a max number of 12. There will be a nominal fee of $25.
