The New Year brings New Year’s Resolutions and new goals. Did you make some? Any? Are you keeping them?

Setting goals is a phrase that is bandied around quite freely. Goals, we are told, should be attainable, achievable, trackable, measurable, short-term, long-term …… Sounds easy enough, right. But where to start? Keep it simple.

“I want to get fit” is a great goal and here is how you do it. Move. It is simple. But how do you know if it’s working? Keep a log of when you move. For more comprehensive tracking, add in for how long, what you did and how you felt afterwards. Write it in a notebook, use a fitness app, make notes on your phone. Whatever it takes. Or, just make ‘fitness appointments’ with yourself and/or with a friend and honor them just as you would a doctor’s or dentist’s appointment. Keep them.

(If you are wondering, Katlyn T has cut 2min 44sec of her time while also using less scaling of the movements. Progress)

2020 Perfect Vision – Talk about goal-setting. Coach Anna and her teammate, Paris Henken, have set a goal to go to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and win gold. If you would like to find out more about being part of an Olympic campaign, please join T2 CrossFit’s friends at the fundraiser on Saturday, 9 February, 5:00-8:00pm.

For more information, please visit “Anna – Paris, Olympic Fundraiser” page or email Joe at joe@YostTeam.com

The Lurong Challege is underway. If you signed up, good luck. Even if you didn’t sign up this time, you might want to ‘shadow’ someone who did, just to gain a little experience and knowledge about what goes on and how it all works and how the community supports the participants.

Workouts will officially be on Saturday mornings beginning at 8:00am, unless otherwise arranged. Make sure to ask the coach who is in the building.

Coach Matt is the go-to guy again for weights, measurements, questions and queries.

Today’s Fun/Trivia: “All UPS vehicles were painted the now-familiar Pullman brown color, selected by Charlie Soderstrom because it was neat, dignified, and professional.” It’s based on the brown used on luxury sleeping rail cars by Pullman Company, and supposedly because it is easy to keep looking clean.” (https://www.quora.com/Why-are-UPS-trucks-brown)

But did you also know, “…the roofs of UPS’s iconic vehicles eschew the familiar dirt color for white. The roofs are actually made of a translucent material that keeps the cargo dry, but also lets light in so the back of the trucks don’t have to be lit during the daytime.” (http://digg.com/2017/ups-truck-roofs-aint-brown)

Yay Burpees! How many did you do today?
