A clean ship is a happy ship

Keeping It Clean takes more than just scrubbing the decks.

CrossFit is more than just 1 hr of fitness a day, several days a week. It is a whole life style of clean living. Now that sounds pretty dramatic but it isn’t really. It’s the little things that make the big difference. Washing your knee sleeves is a start.

Once you get through the door of a CrossFit gym, you will become part of an amazing community; this is your new support group. This support group will help to keep you on track, keep you accountable and help you keep it clean. 

Eating clean is part of the process and something towards which we all strive; not necessarily are we all as successful as others but that is part of the “Keeping It Clean” commitment we make to ourselves and with which, our new support group helps. 

To help with the initial getting on track of ‘eating clean’, there are the Lurong Challenges, if you so wish. A new one is beginning 17 September with Early Bird Registration starting 6 August. If you haven’t done a Challenge, talk to Anna and/or T2 members who have thrown down the gauntlet on one or more of these Challenges – they really help you to focus on what you put in your body. So we change our diet to help us get better, cleaner and healthier, and by doing this we are setting examples to the younger generation and our kids.  

It is a sad fact that today there is such a tragic drug epidemic to which our kids are exposed but by being good role models, by showing what it means to keeping it clean, being committed and dedicated we can start to help this problem.

By being involved ourselves in physical activity and consequently encouraging our children to do likewise, we can help refocus their minds and give them self-purpose to help prevent addiction or to help with recovery and becoming sober. I do think it is a subject that should be openly discussed rather than pretending it isn’t happening. It involves ethics, honesty, integrity, self esteem, ego, responsibility etc and these spread not just through our workouts (no rep shaving) but through our lives generally. With the help of the support group which we know as the CrossFit community, let’s all do our bit by Keeping It Clean

T2 Challenge, Double T2 Challenge, T2’s Dirty Dozen Challenge for August

I know I have said this before but ….. DUBs, love them or hate them, it really helps if you can do them. So this challenge is here to help. There will be 3 levels – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. There will be prizes and there will be no registration fee. It will be all down to you. More details next week.

You don’t have to be a coach to participate in this course. If you are trying to improve your lifts, sometimes it helps to break them down into little steps. This course will help you do that.

9:00am Saturday Community Class (Free – as many times as you want). This Saturday, come and meet our special community and coaches, and try a workout too. And the best thing, apart from the class being FREE, you don’t need any CrossFit experience. In fact, you don’t need any experience.

Outside the Box’: 

I got it wrong last week, it wasn’t a Spartan race but a Tough Mudder. Not sure when the race is but talk to Eddie Yongo, Carrie Leasure and Chris Rossi about how it’s going and what made them decide to do it.

Not this Sunday but Sunday, 29 July, several members are taking part in the 2018 Summer Sizzler in Wadsworth OH. One team or should I say Team One 😊 is/are Matt Miller, Ann Talarico, Hilary Hocson and SPM. Two Team comprises of Bill Best, Taylor and her friends. Wish them well if you see them around the gym. I know Billy has been practicing tire flips.
