Anyone planning a journey in the near future? Journey: an act of traveling from one place to another usually taking some time. Life is often referred to as ‘a journey’ – moving literally and metaphorically through the years. 

One very important part of life’s journey is getting one’s health back from illness or injury, maintaining one’s health/wellness and moving on to being fit. It’s not a journey that can be rushed. It takes considerable planning. And it is a journey/path that can be easily diverted. 

There are many facets to the illness-wellness-fitness journey; working-out is definitely one of them. But there is also support, community, commitment to yourself, commitment from others to you, what you eat and drink, stress, work …. Actually, the list goes on and on. 

I witnessed a wonderful example of the community and commitment to others this week. Jen Larance, an OG of T2, introduced Annie Skiba to CrossFit. Annie fully embraced the ‘fitness journey’ and commitment to herself and although it is a struggle for her to attend class, she is almost always there at 7pm. And she really enjoys that class. It’s just that more often than not she is the only lady. So last Tuesday, Jen, after already having done 9am, came back in the evening to workout with Annie. WTG ladies.

If there are any other ladies who are able to, once in a while, attend the 7pm class, Annie would love it!!! 😊

Registration is open for the next Lurong Challenge. If eating more healthfully is part of your journey, this is a good way to start. Lots of information, a supportive community to help you through the dark times and visible and physical results at the end of it. Thank you for your patience last Saturday; the Culinary Ninja Workshop was a huge success. Lots of fun, great company and delicious food. The lingering smell in the gym is fading. 

And as it fades, 9:00am Saturday Community Class and 10:30am Members’ WOD rush back with full force. This Saturday, how about bringing a friend to the Community Class and help him/her begin his/her journey back to fitness.
